One for Mom:

A teacher training group came up to our shelter a few days ago, full of questions about our hike. We traded valuable information for coldcut sandwiches and produce. They were sponsored by Leki, a trekking pole company. Thruhikers inside the shelter include Phoenix, InTents, Spaceship (and his dog, Safety Patrol); Andy's out front.
So, I'm in Daleville, about 50 miles up the trail, and Phoenix and I were identified by a local teacher from this group. She's going to tell all her friends tomorrow about how we've made it so far in just a few days.

These common shrubs are EVERYWHERE, only in small tree size. I think it has some connection to thebumble bee population.
